gotta love this kid's honesty...

my mom sent this to me...pretty funny stuff.

This is really cute!!!    The 'Middle Wife' by an Anonymous 2nd grade
teacher

I've been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two  kids myself,
but the best birth story I know is the one I saw in my own second grade
classroom a few years back.

When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a few sessions
with my students. It helps them get over shyness and usually show-and-tell
is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model airplanes, pictures of fish
they catch, stuff like that. And I never, ever place any boundaries or
limitations on them. If they want to lug it in to school and talk about it,
they're welcome.

Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing kid,
takes her turn and waddles up to the front of the class with a pillow
stuffed under her sweater.

She holds up a snapshot of an infant. 'This is Luke, my baby brother, and
I'm going to tell you about his birthday'

'First, Mom and Dad made him as a symbol of their love, and then Dad put a
seed in my Mom's stomach, and Luke grew in there. He ate for nine months
through an umbrella cord.'

She's standing there with her hands on the pillow, and I'm trying not to
laugh and wishing I had my camcorder with me. The kids are watching her in
amazement.

'Then, about two Saturdays ago, my Mom starts saying and going, 'Oh,
Oh, Oh, Oh!' Erica puts a hand behind her back and groans. 'She walked around
the house for, like an hour, 'Oh, oh, oh!' (Now this kid is doing a hysterical
duck walk and groaning.)

'My Dad called the middle wife. She delivers babies, but she doesn't have a
sign on the car like the Domino's man. They got my Mom to lie down in bed
like this.' (Then Erica lies down with her back against the wall.)

'And then, pop! My Mom had this bag of water she kept in there in case he
got thirsty, and it just blew up and spilled all over the bed, like psshhheew!'
(This kid has her legs spread with her little hands miming water flowing away.
It was too much!)

'Then the middle wife starts saying 'push, push,' and 'breathe, breathe' .
They started counting, but never even got past ten. Then, all of a sudden,
out comes my brother. He was covered in yucky stuff that they all said it
was from Mom's play-center, (placenta) so there must be a lot of toys
inside
there.'

Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned to her seat.
I'm sure I applauded the loudest. Ever since then, when it's show-and-tell day,
I bring my camcorder, just in case another 'Middle Wife' comes along.

i wish i could party.....like my parents!

so i'm at my parent's this weekend for a bridal shower honoring my future sister-in-law. i run to the store about 8:00 to get some supplies for said shower. i get home and it's close to 9 p.m. i find my mom, in the middle of putting on make-up, asking if i minded if they went down to "pearl's?" that is their hang-out...they are there all the time. never been but i can't wait to check it out and see the appeal. but never, in my life, did i think i'd see the day, when my mom and dad would decide to go out....AT 9:00 P.M. i mean, i don't even do that...even when i'm not pregnant. if i'm home past 7, you ain't getting me out unless the house is on fire...and even then it would have to be a pretty bad one. the only move i'm making is from the couch to the bed with an occassional stop to pee. where do they get the energy?? i'm 33 and feel 104 most days. by 9:00, i'm lucky to stay awake long enough to watch one of the million things i have recorded, much less, go out and drink. and get this....my dad had already been drinking...SINCE HAPPY HOUR! he took a break at dinner and refueled with some water. before my mom decided she wanted to go out, he was kicked back in the recliner, eyes looking really heavy. i was sure he was about to pass out. but all of a sudden, he got a second win and was up shaving, getting ready to tear it up. is this what happens after you get your kids raised?? do you get a sudden burst of energy at week's end that makes you want to go out and party like teenagers??

all i can say, is good for them. they did their time, paid their dues and they deserve it. i just wish i could bottle of up whatever they got and make myself stay up past 9:30.

funny.....

a friend sent this to me and i thought i'd share with you...i know, i know..i'm the worst blogger ever...promise i'll make more time to entertain you.

Baby's First Doctor Visit This made me laugh out loud.I hope it will give you a smile! A woman and a baby were in the doctor's examining room, waiting for thedoctor to come in for the baby's first exam. The doctor arrived, and examined the baby, checked his weight, and beinga little concerned, asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed. 'Breast-fed,' she replied. 'Well, strip down to your waist,' the doctor ordered. She did. He pinched her nipples, pressed, kneaded, and rubbed bothbreasts for a while in a very professional and detailed examination. Motioning to her to get dressed, the doctor said, 'No wonder this baby is underweight. You don't have any milk.' I know,' she said, I'm his Grandma, but I'm glad I came.

not this time, buddy.....

when i was pregnant with mackenzie~i believe it was september~so i was like, 7 months pregnant~and cory got a trip to pebble beach. i graciously bowed out and decided to let him take one of his younger brothers with him. after all, they were going to be playing a lot of golf and visiting some wineries. let's face it...who wants to go visit a place FULL of great wine when you can't have ANY of it?? so off they went and had a great time. well, fast forward two years later~or to now~and he calls me the other day to tell me that he got another trip back to pebble beach. the conversation went a little something like this:

cory: guess what?

me: what?

cory: looks like i got another trip to pebble beach this year!

me: oh, really. that's good.

cory: and, yeah, you're pregnant...again!

me: so??

cory: well, you don't want to go pregnant, right?

me: uh....yes. i'm going this time. this will probably be the last kid-free vacation we take in a VEEEEEERRRY LOOOOOOONG time. i'm going.

cory: well, i'm going to be playing a lot of golf and getting really drunk....

me: i'm going.

after that, he had the brilliant suggestion that we take mackenzie with us. now, this trip is directly following our trip to mexico~as a family~for my brother's wedding. so after battling mac in mexico for 4 days, i will so be in need of another vacation. let's face it..traveling with toddlers is not exactly a vacation....yes, it's a change of scenery but it's the same work you do day in and day out but it's even harder because you are in a different place without the comforts and conveniences of home. so i shot down that idea real quick...absolutely not!! not happening. i'm not about to be stuck in a hotel room all day with a bored toddler while he's playing golf and sipping wine. no, sir!

and i could kind of sense that he was a little disappointed that i wanted to go....i'm sure he wanted me to bow out again and let a fellow golfer go in my place. HA! not this time! my happy, pregnant ass is going to pebble beach!
